Meet Dr Kollmeier
Dr.
Alexa P. Kollmeier completed her Allergy and Immunology fellowship
training at Scripps Clinic, La Jolla. She is a diplomate of the
American Board of Allergy and Immunology and a recognized member of
the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American
College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and the San Diego Allergy
Society.
A
native of New York, Dr. Kollmeier received her Bachelor of Science
degree from Newcomb College, Tulane University. She went on to earn
her medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv
University where she was recognized with the Dean’s Award for
Academic Excellence. She then returned to New York for Internal
Medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein
School of Medicine. Dr. Kollmeier was certified by the American
Board of Internal Medicine in 2001 and by the American Board of
Allergy and Immunology in 2005.
Dr.
Kollmeier strongly believes in integrating alternative and
conventional therapies to obtain optimum health. She is committed to
adhering to the principles of integrative medicine where the patient
and physician are partners in the healing process and all factors
that influence health, wellness and disease are taken into
consideration. She has particular
interest in allergies of the skin, aspirin-exacerbated respiratory
disease, and food allergy. She is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys
surfing, hiking, and painting.
